THE ARTEMIS PROJECT

IAN RANDAL STROCK

Role in the Artemis Project

Ian Randal Strock is the President of LRC Publications, Inc., the editor of Artemis Magazine, and the Vice President (Publications) of The Lunar Resources Company. The Lunar Resources Company, in conjunction with the Artemis Society International, is sponsoring the Artemis Project--a private venture to build a commercial manned moon base, with the first flight planned in the next ten years.

LRC Publications, Inc., was spun off from The Lunar Resources Company in order to publish Artemis Magazine, and, eventually, other magazines, books, and other publications. LRC Publications is currently putting together funding to make a public stock offering, the proceeds of which will fund the magazine, and the company, for approximately four years (until the anticipated break-even point of the magazine). An announcement will be made here as soon as the public offering is available.

Artemis Magazine is planned to debut in late 1997. It will be a general interest, bi-monthly magazine of science and science fiction. See the Artemis Magazine web site for more information.

Ian is also very involved in the non-profit side of the project (see http://www.asi.org/bios/strock.ian.html).
