My new Gyrospoke Invention website address is: http://home.digital.net/~danp/Gyrospoke.html ============= Here is an article about my invention in the Journal of the Institution of Engineers of Ireland: http://www.iei.ie/journal/sept2001/isambard.html ============= The Gyrospoke creates 4 strategic pivot points or kinetic fulcrums establishing a relationship between two sets of 4 gyroscopes. One set of four gyros act as a non-atmospheric low pressure wing. The other set of gyros "facing inside back" negotiate a relationship with the payload and corresponding gyro set, creating a non-atmospheric positive pressure that lifts or floats the device. The eureka is difficult to illustrate, especially if one tries to apply Newtonian physics or Einstein's theory of relativity. My claims will be impartially validated, and any "fuzzy qualifiers" will eventually be objectified. ============= Please do not interpret my machine's "facing inside back" action as a "bemusing" self-cancellation effort in futility. ============= The opposing forces of the device are strategically designed to push the device away from the ground. ============= Leveraged buoyancy is the means to the machine's non-canceling properties. ============= The lower set of gyros use strategic speed, direction and kinetically leveraged design to introduce a propulsion into the opposing force of the upper set of gyros. ============= A non-gyroscope retraction system is prior art for the Gyrospoke: http://www.natick.army.mil/pao/2002/02-05.htm ============= Here is another description of same prior art: http://www.natick.army.mil/warrior/02/janfeb/janfebwarr02.pdf ============= The Pneumatic Muscle Actuator (PMA) is a silicone tube reinforced with a braided Vectran fiber that is inserted between the cargo slings and the parachute confluence point. ============= A stick trigger hanging beneath the platform strikes the ground and activates a generator that expands the actuator with a hot gas. When the actuator is inflated at about 20 feet before impact, its diameter increases while its length decreases by 35 percent, pulling the cargo up toward the parachutes and reducing the cargo's landing velocity.

Dear colleagues, I really look forward in starting to teach some of the students in my Technology class about rockets and rocket science. We are just starting to build model rockets that the students are going to be expirementing with. I had them give oral reports and research the science earlier so that they would get an appreciation for it. The oral reports went very well and I thought that it was very exciting to see what they had learned. My class seemed to learn a lot more from doing the research by themselves instead of me teaching it to them. Actually, I plan to take a group of interested students to Kennedy Space Center in a year or two. I am really excited!

You may want to consider urea as a means of transporting nitrogen and hydrogen in quantity safely. Also, while I enjoy intriguing improvisations as much as anybody and more than most, I cannot think of any that I have heard of that offer more results, sooner, than piggybacking a hybrid booster on a 747 cargo transport. A LOX maker inside the jet would fill the oxidizer tank in flight, as the contraption headed for the Equator. Takeoff weight for the rocket would be 100 tons, but launch weight would be a good deal greater once the tank was full. (A source of grief to aircraft designers has always been that a plane can cruise with a far larger load than it could have raised off the runway.) A collection of cargo modules would be assembled in orbit. --For solid fuel I like aluminum carbide powder in a matrix of bakelite. You ignite (or reignite) it with a squirt of 30% peroxide. A liner of aluminum foil down the core of the fuel mass doesn't react with the peroxide or the LOX, so as it melts it assures the burn proceeds from back to front-- the traditional pattern of COG shift, well understood. The bakelite matrix is a poor conductor, and will char away steadily without melting. (It's also a compact way to store carbon for fuel, with those benzene rings.)

Frontiers are vital to the Human experience. People have matured to some degree over the thousands of years of civilization. We need the challenge and the freedom to become more than we are. If we accomplish something like Artemis in the near future the Earth and its inhabitants will be beneficiaries. Good Luck!

Can you garentee that you would not bring somthing back to earth that will jepordise the well being here on Earth have you infestegated all your new adventures in your mining? I'm excited to learn that your orginization is planning to establish a base on the Lunar surface soon. Being a former submariner, I would like to present the suggestion that people like myself who served in the submarine service could be of benifit to your endeavors in a variety of ways. The people who serve or who have served in the U.S. Submarine Service have a lot of attributes and qualities that would seem to be desirable in a space exploration environment, such as being able to work in confined spaces in a technical team environment, under zero error conditions for sustained periods of time. These are highly trained, high caliber people that could be utilized in any project that requires space travel or exploration. This is just a suggestion to consider.

With space previously in the hands of only the government before, taxpayers who funded space programs had no say in what the moneywent to. From the overall applause I have seen in this guestbook, it shows that NASA and similar programs haven't neccesaily used people's money in their best interest. Private companies like Artemis, that before this have been shunned from space, will give people a say, and a chance in colonizing the moon! Great Job!

I think it is naive for us to believe there is not already a base on the moon, for starters. I think NASA is a front. I believe we have bases on the moon and on Mars, and have visited other Planets as well. Do you really think they would tell us about this? Of course not. For the most part, we as a society are not intelligent enough to fathom nor accept the truth. The government knows this and hides the truth from us. We (The Believers) need to come together and take a stand somehow and find the truth. Who is willing?

This is the most exciting set of webpages I've seen on the subject of independant space exploration commpanies. This is extremely interesting to me, and I wish to be a part of it. I want to learn as much as I can about these projects. I know the artemis project isnt the only one, and Id like to learn of other similar projects. Im young, open-minded, and I think this is the next step in our young civilization. We've been on this planet for many years, and its time to move to a new address. If anyone reads this, I'm a young mechanical engineer from Georgia Tech with great expectations for my lifetime. If I dont hear from anyone ever, this is a great idea, and keep moving on this project. We all want to see the earth from space (in real life, if only for an hour).

"The dream of yesterday is the reality of today and is the hope of tomorrow", does not always apply to everything. Its an ingenius idea but, WHY. what is the point of establishing a base upon the moon. Apollo answered the questions asked about the moon in the late 60's and early 70's. May be a base on Mars may be more useful? A lot harder i agree, there is nothing i would like more than NASA or a space agency to establish a manned mission to Mars. The answer of how to get to mars, is on this very web page. I would appreciate your responses. Robert. D. Cunliffe Age 16

I am interested in your project. I was wondering if you could answer a couple of questions for me. Before I send money I would like to know if you have a comprehensive timetable on different organizational goals. For instance, Is there a particular design of craft you plan to use? How much will it cost? What types of permits do you need? Do you have a facility, or base of operations? That is the type of info that I am looking for. There is information here on the web page but many of my questions are left unanswered. Before I commit to an organization I need to know detailed answers to detailed questions. Please send me information on where to go to get answers to these and other questions..... Thank you..... Hope to hear from you soon.

The discovery, exploration, and colonization of the "New World" was mostly privately funded. It is a waste of time to wait for any beurocracy to get around to anything fun. Artemis is the first serious effort to plan the colonize the Moon. I, for one, believe we have the capability to do this today, just not enough global motivation. I would like to offer my abilities in computer hardware and software architecture engineering towards this end. If I can ever be of any service, please do not hesitate to email me.
